Robert II was taken prisoner at the Battle of Tinchebrai, 1107.
L. Frank Baum, author of "The Wizard of Oz," and Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of "Tarzan," are descendants.
Robert de Estoteville acquired a great inheritance with his wife,Eneburga, daughter and heir of Hugh, son of Baldrick, a great Saxonthane, and among other lands, had the lordship of Schypwyc, or Skipwic. He left three sons, Robert, Osmund, and Patrick. [John Burke & John Bernard Burke, Extinct and Dormant Baronetcies of England, Ireland, and Scotland, Second Edition, Scott, Webster, & Geary, London, 1841, p. 486,Skipwith, of Newbold Hall]
Note: The above source has Patrick de Skip with descending from this Robert. Burke's Peerage indicates that Patrick was a younger son of this Robert's son (also Robert
2.ROBERT II de Stuteville. Not believed to have held lands in England. A supporter of Robert Curthose with his father, he was captured at St.Pierre-sur-Dive shortly before the battle of Tinchebrai. He was married to Erneburga whose parentage is unknown.

- Roger (sheriff of Northumberland from Easter 1170-Easter 1185, and castellan of Wark on Tweed)
- John of Long Lawford, Warwickshire. Married to Agnes possibly da. of Waleran son of Hugh and Matilda.
- Osmund of Weston Colville and Burton Agnes, Yorks. d. bef 1172.Succeeded by son Roger.
- NN (soror Robert deStuteville) wife of Robert de Daville
[Sources : Keats-Rohan, 'Domesday Descendants' pp.722-724; Clay, 'Early Yorkshire Charters' v.8, p.2-5]
The evidence suggesting the marriage to Beatrix, and the existence of the sons Graulfus and William, is an entry in the Liber Vitae of Durham, described by Clay as commemorating Robert de Stuteuill?, Beatrix hiswife, and Robert, Graulfus and William their sons. Clay argues that the Liber
Vitae entry cannot relate to Robert II, as his son Robert III is known to have been the son of Robert and Erneburga (not of Robert and Beatrix).
In a footnote, Clay mentions further entries in the Liber Vitae, commemorating William de Estuteuile and Roger his brother, and again a Gilbert Halsart and Joan de Stuteuilla.
