George Washington Murphy died as a result of injuries recieved in the Civil
War. He is buried in Old Salem Cem. in Logan Co. Ky., however his wife, Sarah
Jane (Sawyer)-- dau of Michael Henderson Sawyer Sr. --- is buried at Chandler's
Cemetery as they were no longer burying anyone at Old Salem when she died.There
were 4 children born of this marriage.
