Jonathan Hatch, Sarah's father, had penetrated the wilds onthe east

father-in-law.The marriage may have taken place between the years
1680-90, at a time when Nathaniel was a bachelor of mature years. He was
admitted a townsman of Sandwich in 1681. He died in the 76th year of his
age. In his will probated in Barnstable Court 4 Dec. 1722, he mentions
his widow Sarah, and his sons, Nathaniel, Ebenezer and Joseph, and his
daughters, Hozia, Sarah, Mary, Oseah. Hiswidow Sarah survived him about
nine years and died 8 July 1731; she also made her will in which she
mentions her sons, Nathaniel, Ebenezer and Joseph, and makes her dau.
Mary her executrix and mentions "three other daughters." Herestate

Stirnet.com note:
The legality of at least the first of their 'marriages' (of George and Margaret) has been doubted which is why the claim to the Earldom of the second son, William Leslie, was disputed by some. Queen Mary is reported to have stepped in to resolve the dispute and to have supported the claim of Andrew (eldest son by Agnes Somerville) but this was possibly because he was a Catholic whilst William was a Protestant rather than because of the strict legality of the position. Margaret appears to have continued to be George's mistress throughout much of his marriage to Agnes Somerville and he had children by both of them during that time. We show all George and Margaret's reported children together but note that (1) at least the first two sons were probably born before George's marriage to Elizabeth Gray, (2) Elizabeth, Agnes, Beatrix and Euphemia were probably born whilst George was married to Agnes Somerville and some say that one or more of them were daughters of Agnes Somerville, (3) Janet and Helen, shown here as being by Agnes Somerville, may have been daughters of Margaret Crichton.
[27852] David and Mary had no children. William Smith was the bondsman for the marriage.
