Robert Willoughby, 1st Baron Willoughby de Broke, de jure 9th BaronLatimer (c.1452 23 August 1502)
Robert Willoughby was born at Broke, Wiltshire, the son of JohnWilloughby (c.14521502) and Anne Cheney. He married in 1472 BlancheChampernowne, daughter of John Champernowne of Beer Ferrers, Devon.They had four children; Robert, Elizabeth, John and Anthony.
He was High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1479 and High Sheriff of Devon in1480.
The barony of Willoughby de Broke was created when Robert Willoughbywas summoned to Parliament by writ in 1492. On his death on 23 August1502 the title passed to his eldest son Robert.
