From Mildred Yoder:
Aunt Mary Steigerwalt died in December of 1936 due to heart problems and pneumonia.- according to my Mother Sara's notes. In reviewing some Auker reports, she died in Nov. 1936. I was born in Sept. of 1936, so don't remember her. I think my mother told us that Mary was married in PA and had Kenneth before the Lucian Auker family moved to Ohio. I don't know when she married Uncle Ed (Edwin). My memory of Uncle Ed and Kenneth was that they lived like bachelors. I think Uncle Ed smoked or maybe it was Kenneth. Kenneth's wife's last name was Call (I think).. His wife had several children and they were about my age. I got to stay overnight with them one time. The bed we slept in had a feather mattress. I thought that was really special. They liked warm milk almost straight from the cows. I preferred my milk cold.
In looking through my Auker files, I found my recorded visit with Aunt Anna. She said that on March 17, 1903, Lucian and Frances Auker and their 7 children moved by train from Juniata County, PA to Ohio. Friends had encouraged them to move to improve their living conditions. They moved their belongings by train and Aunt Anna remembers bringing a cat along. Raymond was born in October 1903.. Back to Uncle Ed. He was a farmer and lived east of River Styx. If I remember correctly, Hwy 57 curves to the west before it gets to River Styx. If you go straight north on the county road at that bend, you would get to his house. I don't know where they died, but there are 3 possibilities in that area.where they might be buried. The cemetery at Wadsworth, the Mennonite Cemetery at the Lower Mennonite Church on Mennonite Road, or Guilford Mennonite Cemetery west of Blake. There is no church there now.

Michael Henderson was listed on 1870 census of Logan County, Ky. as living with
daughter Sarah. He was listed as wIDowed and age 63. He died in December
l879 leaving his wife, Rachel Ann one month pregnant, and his last son, John
Starling Sawyer was then born 12th August 1880
