I have never heard of the Battle of Nevils Crefs, which was what the lineage that I was folowing originally had as Ralph's death place in 1366. The Battle of Neville's Cross was fought 17 Oct 1346. This discrepancy has caused me to re-evaluate
all birth dates in this line, placing them much earlier, as many other people have in World Connect. There appear to be two camps of people: Those with Ralph I born in 1291 and Ralph II born in 1319/22; and those with Ralph I born 1336 and
Ralph II born in 1366. Given a death for Ralph I in 1346 at Neville's Cross, I guess I am joining the earlier camp. The birth date of 1396 for Leonard Hastings is explained by a late second marriage for Ralph II.
