Following material written by Alice (Thompson) Alverson by hand for the booklet in honor of Fred and Alice's 50 wedding aniversary in 1967.
Married at the home of Aunt Belle Ferguson and her daughter Minnie. Lived at 2609 Bismark Ave. (name changed to Hale after WWI) with Fred's parents. Alice graduated from Clark Business School (she said her shorthand and typing were a constant joy to her). In the fall of 1919 the four of them moved to 2121 Wrocklage Ave. and Fred and Alice left Virginia Ave. Meth. church and joined St. Paul Methodist Church. where they were members for 43 years. In 1920 Fred and Alice moved to an apartment on Douglas Ave. Moved to new home they built at 2224 Wrocklage Ave. on 8/22/1924.
Grace and Earl Compton, Dorothy, Sarah Lee, Maurice and Alice drove to Fla 9/1/1933. Lived on Harbor View in Tampa. Fred and Granddad Alverson went to Tampa for family & they returned to Louisville in time for Derby on 5/1/1934. Moved to new home at 3038 Wattterson Trail that they built in 1946. They lived there 14 years.
Nov. 1961 moved to Fl. and lived in a rented house. In April 1962, closed the sale of their house in Louisville. Moved into their new house in Seminole, Fla July 12, 1962.
