On 13 Dec 1610 Thomas first married Joane Way, daughter of Stephen Way & Ursula Gill, in Bridport, Dorset, Eng. Born ca 1562 in Powerstock, Dorset,Eng. Joanewas baptized in Powerstock, Dorset, Eng. on 22 Jan 1562. Joane died on 10 May 1615 in Powerstock, Dorset, England. They had one child Mary. Thomas was one of the first 24 freemen in Dorchester, 1631. He removed at Windsor, CT, 1637; was a deputy to the General Court 1637-1640,a grand juror 1643. He removed to Northampton, MA 1659. (Judge Henry N. Blake says: 'Six Presidents of the United States were descended from Thomas Ford. Thomas was the nephew of Thomas FORD, merchant of Dorchester who died Jan. 20, 1610/11. The latter's will, proved May 8,1611 names, among others, his brother John, and "Thomas, son of my brother, John FORDE."
Thomas FORD arrived at Dorchester, MA in the 'Mary & John' 1630 with wife,four daughters and step-son Aaron COOKE, settled at Windsor, CT,where he was granted a lot in 1637, and moved to Northampton, MA 1659.Freeman 1631; deputy to General Court 1637-1640; juror 1643 and 1644. In 1645 Thomas moved to Hartford, CT and established a tavern in the house of Thomas SCOTT. In 1652 he sold the tavern, and in 1655 was Constable at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

Thomas Ford was one of the original company of the "Mary and John" of Dorchester, Mass., 1630. He was a freeman 1631, member of Dorchester Church. He came to Windsor where he served as deputy to Conn. Gen'l Ct. 1637-40, grand juror 1643, and juror 1644. He removed to Northampton probably at same time with Elder John Strong, 1659. A man of good estate, great energy, and a devoted friend to the regicides, Goffe and Whalley. He exch'd his home lot and lands at Windsor, 10 Dec 1660, with Edward Elmer in Northampton. His wife died at Windsor 18 Apr 1643 and he married Mrs. Ann (wid. Thos.) Scott. He died 28 Nov. 1676. Administrators of his will were Elder John Strong, Preserved Clapp, and Goodwife Marsh.

Thomas Ford came in the "Mary and John" to Dorchester in 1630. He was a freeman 19 Oct 1630. He moved to Windsor, Ct. 1636 where he was a rep. 1638-41, 44, 54. His wife died 18 Apr 1643 and he married 7 Nov 1644 Ann, widow of Thomas Scott of Hartford. He moved to Northampton where he died 9 Nov 1676.
Thomas Ford, born about 1587, lived in Dorsetshire. Two of his daughters were baptized at the Church of St. Mary with St. Andrew in Bridport, in 1617 and 1619. One daughter in Holy Trinity Church, Dorchester in 1625. He married 13 Dec 1610, Joan Waye, who as buried 10 May 1615. They had one daughter, Mary. He married second, 19 Jun 1616 Elizabeth (Chard) Cooke, widow of Aaron Cooke. His wife, four daughters, and step-son, Aaron Cooke, sailed on the Mary and John from Plymouth 20 Mar. 1630. His wife, Elizabeth died 18 Apr. 1643 in Windsor, Ct. Thomas married third, Annie Scott, widow of Thomas Scott, 7 Nov 1644. He removed to Northampton, MA after 1660. Annie died 5 May 1675 and Thomas died 9 Nov 1676.
BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Ford m. Joan Way in Powerstock, a small village about 5 miles Northeast of Bridport, Dorset. They had a dau., Mary, there in 1612, and Joan d. three years later. The next year he m. Elizabeth Charde, a young widow, in Bridport, who had a 3-year old son, Aaron Cook. Elizabeth m. her first husband in Thorncombe, Dorset, about 14 miles northeast of Bridport. Thomas & Elizabeth first settled in Bridport where their first two daus. were baptized, Joan (1617) & Abigail (1619). Between 1619 & 1629 they lived in Dorchester, Dorset where they had their next children baptised in the Holy Trinity Church, Thomas Jr. (1623), who d. a few weeks later, Hepzibah (1625) and Hannah (1629). It was no doubt here that Thomas Ford met Rev. John White of Dorchester, who was so influential in organizing the 1630 migration to America. Thomas sailed on the "Mary & John" with his second wife, daus. Mary (17) Joan (12) Abigail (10) and Hepzibah (4) and step-son Aaron Cook.
BIOGRAPHY: Thomas first settled in Dorchester, MA, and then moved his family to Windsor, CT, in 1635. In 1637 he was one of four who purchased a large tract from the Sachem, Tehano, which now includes Windsor Locks, the northern third of Windsor and the southern part of Suffield. In 1637 he was granted a lot near Sandy Road, which he sold before 1648. In 1654, he and his son-in-law, John Strong, were chosen Constables of Windsor. In 1656, he bought the original home lot of William Hosford (between Nicholas Denslow & Eltweed Pomeroy), where he lived until he moved to Northampton, MA, before 1672. In 1668, he gave a conditional bond for deeding the homestead after the death of he and his wife, to Zerubable Filer, if he should marry Thomas' grandau. Experience Strong. These two were married, 27 May 1699, and Experience received the deed, 23 Aug 1672.
