1850 and 1860 censuses gives birth about 1837.
Benjamin enlisted in the 71 Regimment of the Enrolled Missouri Militia (serving the Union), Company H on 15 Nov 1862 at Marshall as a private. He was on active service from 15 Nov 1862 through 25 May 1863 serving 191 days. He was ordered back into active service in 1864 serving another 191 days, but the dates are not recorded. His commanding officer was Captain Bingham.
In the 1900 Census his birthplace mistakenly given as Kentucky (by son).
S0254 - Went to Montana and entered the hotel business in Sappington. Later moved to Ennis and went into the same business. They then settled on a ranch at the lower end of the valley on the east side of the madison below the George watkins place, where they farmed and raised stock. After Ben's death sons Lud and L.D. ran the ranch.
