JOHN (DARCY), BARON DARCY OF CHECHE, only son and heir, aged 26 at his father's death. Knighted at the Coronation, 15 January 1558/9. He took his seat in the House of Lords 25 January 1558/9. He entertained the Queen at St. Osyth's, July 1561,
and August 1579. Admitted Gray's Inn, 4 February 1562/3. He married Frances, daughter of Richard (RICH), BARON RICH [Lord Chancellor), by Elizabeth, sister of William JENKS. She died before him. He died 3 March 1580/1, and was buried at St.
Osyth's, aged about 58. [CP 4:78]
