He [Thomas FitzJohn FitzGerald] married, 16 August 1312, at Greencastle, Joan, daughter of Richard (DE BURGH), EARL OF ULSTER [IRL], by Margaret, daughter of Sir John DE BURGH, of Lanvaley. He died 5 April 1328, and was buried in the Church of the Friars Minor at Kildare. Inquisitions taken after his death are recorded in the Red Book of Kildare. His widow married, 3 July 1329, at Maynooth, Sir John DARCY, Justiciar, [1st LordDarcy]. She died 23 April 1359, and was buried beside her first husband.
