While it is believed that Aaron served in the Continental Army during the Revolution, like his brothers did there has been no record found to substantiate that he did.
Squire Boone, who married the brothers younger sister, testified that in 1776 Benjamin was improving his land on Clear Creek, (in the area later known as Shelby County) and raising a crop of corn on it; also that Aaron was doing the same in1776 with his land claim on Bullskin Creek. Similar testimony was offered to show that William was improving his land on Paint Creek in 1777.
Aaron served under General George Rogers Clark on several of the General's expeditians against the Wabash Indians. For this service, Aaron receivedthre land grant certificates, all dated 10 august 1787.
Aaron first ventured to Kentucky circ 1776, when he was listed as improving land on a claim in the Jefferson (Shelby)County area. He is listed in the 1778 North Carolina Tax List as living in Rowan County. It is believed that Aaron served in the Continental Army from North Carolina during the Revolutionary War, but no record has been found as yet.
