but never took up the office, which was re-granted to his son 1566. He
marraied (dispensation granted 23 Nov 1543) Elizabeth Scott, dau of his
stepmother, Marion Scott by her lst husband Alexander Scott, and was killed at
the Battle of Pinkie, l0 Sept l547 leaving issue of one son, James, and 2
daughters, Agnes and Janet
