[10885] George had a farm adjoining the old homestead. He purchased land on the opposite side of Clearfield Creek from Belsena. He lived there for years, lumbering and in the retail trade. He later moved to Madera where he bought part of the William Alexander estate and he engaged in the lumber trade for a number of years. In September 1875 he drowned in Clearfield Creek near the junction with Muddy Run Creek. He left a widow and ten children.
