He was a descendant of the Magna Carta Surity, Robert FitzWalter.
His [William FitzWilliam's] son, Sir John, died 5 July 1417; he is said to have married Eleanor, daughter of Sir Henry Green, of Drayton, Northants, a younger son of the Green's Norton family, and to have had six sons, John, Nicholas, Ralph,
Robert, William, and a second John.

[18401] Mary Queen of Scots succeeded her father on 12/14/1542, seven days after her birth. She was forced to surrender to a confederation of Scottish nobles headed by her bastard brother, Regent Moray, at Carberry Hill on June 15, 1567. After 19 years in custody in a number of castles and manor houses in England, she was tried and executed for treason for her alleged involvement in three plots to assassinate Elizabeth.
