[28093] Churchill Evelyn June (Pass) Churchill went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2021. She passed away peacefully at home under the care of her family and Hospice. Evelyn was born June 1, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA. She is the daughter of the late Harry Pass and Sarah Jordan Pass. After the early death of her mother, she was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Dorothy Guisler Pass. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Churchill; sister, Dorothy Pass Shields; brother, Arthur Pass and a granddaughter, Melissa Odell Mistur. She is survived by two brothers, Richard Pass and Van (Doris) Pass; her son, Denis (Jane) Churchill, and daughters: Marcia Odell, Linda (Steve) Riley and Susan (Bruce) Allen, seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Evelyn graduated from Riverside Hospital Nursing program in 1947 and later served as a Cadet Corp Nurse during WWII. After nursing school, she attended Cleveland Bible College (Malone College), where she met the love of her life Robert. They married shortly after graduation and built a life together that lasted 56 1/2 years. Evelyn was always involved in Christian ministry, using her nursing skills for physical healing and as an opportunity to share her faith. She was also actively involved in several civic groups; two-term president of Akron's Women's Federation, the Tallmadge Garden Forum and her church floral committee. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph, Ohio later this summer. Notification will be given in this newspaper once the date is determined.
