MCS didn't seem to indicate doubts about Alianor's last name. HoweverAncestral Roots avoids naming a wife for John Lovel. On page 3102 Burke'sPeerage makes very clear who Eleanor is and what her ancestry is. I thinkthe question is with the mother that they give on 3102, which is the 2ndwife Elizabeth le Despenser, who didn't marry William la Zouche until"aft. 28 April 1393" (1st wife didn't die until "aft. 2 Dec 1391"). Adate of 1393 makes it impossible for Eleanor to have William 7th BaronLovel, b. 1397. Since all these dates are given by Burke's Peerage, I cansee that they have a problem. Eleanor must be the daughter of the 1stwife.
