[5127] At battle of Bannonockburn(1314); taken prisoner. King Edward II was removed from custody of Lord Berkeley and placed in his custody, whereupon Ed. was murdered. He was not charged with Ed's murder, but was sentenced to death for murder of Earl of Kent. He escaped to Germ. & was eventually pardoned
