Christopher Clark, born 1681 (date not documented), Will probated 1754, was the son of Micajah Clark and Sallie Ann Moorman. The wife of Christopher Clark was Penelope Johnson, b. 4 August, 1684, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Johnson, St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co.
In the vestry meeting 18 December, 1697 St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co., orders were given to clear roads; families of Christopher Clark and Edward Clark are listed. The word "families" is presumed to refer to slaves or people being settled on their land grants. English Duplicates of Lost Virginia Records, by Cognets, lists Christ'o Clark on Rent Roll 1704. In Hanover Co., 1726 listed among other Justices of Peace were Nich'o Meriwether and Chr. Clark.
His residence was at Green Springs, now in Louisa Co., Virginia on the waters of Camp Creek and South Anna River, on a part of a rich land, supposed to have been a former lake bed. The location is some 10 miles south of Gordonville and 6 miles from the line between Louisa and Albemarle Co., near Charlottesville, which was called "Clark's Trace" or "Track." The family of Gen. George Rogers Clark lived on this road about 15 miles from Green Springs. The relationship of Gen. Clark to Christopher has been recognized by many. His parents were John Clark born Oct. 1724, King and Queen Co., and Ann Rogers, born 20 October, 1734, King and Queen Co. It is proven that they settled near the present site of Charlottesville, where George Rogers was born. Other brothers were Jonathon, John, Richard, and Edmond, and he had four sisters.
Louisa Co. was created in 1742 from Hanover which was created in 1720-21 from New Kent. Christopher Clark was one of the Justices of the first Louisa Court that set up the county government. This meeting took place in the home of Matthew Jouett on Beaver Creek 12 December 1742. Among those present were: Robert Lewis, Richard Johnson, Christopher Clark, Thomas Meriwether. (Ref. In 1727 Christopher Clark is said to have been a Captain in the Virginia Militia. In the Will of Nicholas Meriwether, his law partner, dated 1743, Christopher is called "Captain." Christopher Clark and Nicholas Meriwether received thousands of acres of land grants. They probably passed much of these to other settlers. Christopher patented 4 to 5 thousand acres in Hanover Co. 1722 to 1739.
"In 1749, Christopher Clark was appointed an "overseer" of the Quaker Meeting House near Sugar Loaf Mountain. He was not an original Quaker but joined the Society between 1743 and 1749. This Meeting House near Sugar Loaf Mountain was situated on land Christopher had entered near Sugar Loaf Peak of West Mountain." (Ref. Cabells and Their Kin, by Alexander Brown.)

In the name of God, I Christopher Clark, being in sound mind and memory, thanks be to Almighty God for it, but calling to mind the uncertainties ye life, make my last Will and Testament as follows, etc. 1st I give to my son Edward, one gun and all my wearing clothes and all things else that he possessed of that was ever mine.
2nd I give to my loving daughter Agnes Johnson, one negro wench, her increase and whatever else she has or ever had in possession that was mine.
3rd I give my loving daughter Rachel Moorman, four hundred acres of land in Hanover County near Capt. Thoms. Darcy and one negro woman named Moll with her increase and all things else that she had in her possession whatever was mine.
4th I give to my loving daughter Sarah Lynch, one negro boy and all things else that she is or ever was possessed of that was mine.
5th I give my loving son Micajah Clark, five hundred acres of Land in Hanover County the same whereon I now live with all rights and attachments thereunto belonging and one negro boy named - - - working tools and whatever else he is or was possessed of that was mine.
6th I give my loving son Bowling Clark four hundred acres of Land in Hanover County lying on the northwest side joining on the land of Mr. Thomas Carr and on ye County - - - -, two young negroes named Nance and Robin and one horse named Spret, one gun, one feather bed, and furniture, two cows amd calves, my trooping arms, and my great Bible, and all my law books.
7th I give my loving daughter Elizabeth Anthony, four hundred acres of land in Goochland on Hooker Creek near South forks of James River, two young negroes Mat and Jenny, cows and calves, one feather bed and furniture.
All the rest of my estate be what nature or quality soever to my loving wife during her natural life, who I appoint my Executrix and further my will and desire is that my loving grand-daughter Penelope Lynch at the death of her grandmother, Penelope Clark, my wife, that then she the said Penelope Lynch be paid out of my estate if there be so much remaining forty pounds good and lawful money of Virginia and then, if any left to be equally divided among my said children but not to be appraised.

The marriage and descendancy of Christopher was obtained from a CD titled "Early Settlers of Alabama" researched by Mary Crary. It is hoped that there is a tie in with the ancestry of James Webster Clark, son of Sarah H Bond and Hosea/Joseph Clark.
All of his offspring, and maybe including Christopher and Penelope, joined the Quakers.
Christopher Clark patented with Nicholas Meriweather (1722) 972 acres in Hanover, and again (1742) 4926 acres in his own name.
