John Mitton, eldest son and heir, m. Anne Swinnerton about 1463 when his
father settled lands upon them and their heirs, naming the bride. In her
right Mitton became Seseschal of the Forest of Cannock until her death
on March 27, 1470, her heir being Humphrey Swinnerton, her son by her
previous marriage to Humphrey Swinnerton of Swinnerton, co Stafford.
Mittn m., secondly, Joan Middlemore of Edgbaston, and thirdly, Joan
______. As John Mitton the elder, esquire, he was appointed Shiriff of
Stafford n November 5, 14 95. He d. February 7, 1499, and a brass to his
memory was formerly in the chancel of the church at Weston.
