Nigel III de LONGFORD
Of Longford, co. Derby. Commissioner having to do with the king's forest and Bolesour 1252. Received grant of free warren in Longford and Ellaston 1252. Obtained release of rights of estover in his park at Longford 1258. He and Matilda Gousill did homage for the lands and tenements held of the king 1259. Made a grant of lands in Didsbury, co. Lancaster 1260. Involved in a dispute with Henry le Foun and Sewallis his brother 1264. Order and confirmation for restitution of lands taken by the king and given to William la Zouche 1268. Covenanted with Roger de Mercinton and Elianor his wife not to sell Brentwood wood in Longford without said Roger's permission 1269. Witnessed an entry in the roll 1272. His manor of Longford was taken into the king's hand in 1274 by the escheator.
