Henry Beaumont, Knt., of Wednesbury, Stafford, Sheriff of Staffordshire, son and heir, was b. abt 1440. He was m. to Eleanor Sutton, dau of John Sutton (or Dudley), 1st Lord Dudley (desc of King Edward I), by Elizabeth, dau of John Berkeley, Knt., of Beverstone,co. Gloucester (descendant of Charlemagne). They had two sons and one dau. He was knighted by King Edward IV at Tewkesbury after the battle on 3 May 1471. "Henry Beaumont" d. testate (P.C.C., 17 Wattys) aged abt thirty-one on 16 Nov 1471. His widow was m. for the 2nd time to George Stanley, of Hammerwich, Lichfield, co Stafford, son of Thomas Stanley, of Elford (of Magna Charta Surety descent), by Elizabeth, dau of Ralph Langton, Knt., of Walton. George & Eleanor had a son and a dau and resided at Wednesbury. Shed. abt 1513.

Sir Henry Beaumont, son of Sir Henry Beaumont and his wifeJoan Heronville of Wednesbury, co. Stafford, was born abt. 1440. He was sheriff of Stafford in 1471 and was knighted by Edward IV at Tewkesbury after the battle on May 3, 1471, dying six months later on Nov. 16, 1471, aged abt. 31. He m. Eleanor Sutton, dau. of John Sutton, Lord Dudley. His short will, made two days before his death, directed that he be buried in the church of Wednesbury where masses were to be said for him for three years. To the Lady Eleanor, his wife, his lands in Eginton, co. Derby, and elsewhere for life, with remainder to John Beaumont, his son and heir. Executrix: Wife Eleanor. Proved Nov. 30, 1471. An inquest port mortem was held at Wyllenhale on June 20, 1472, in which it was found that the manor of Wednesbury was held by John Hampton of Stourton, est.
