Geoffrey; born probably by 1135; involved in financial transactions andlaw suits against his cousins and nephew by marriage Geoffrey Fitz Piersto gain the lands of the Mandeville Earls of Essex; married 1st Alice,daughter of Hugh Maminot and widow of Ralph de Cahaines; married 2ndAlice or Adeliza (born after 1163; died in or after 1214), daughter of1st Earl of Oxford by his 3rd wife Agnes, and died between 1212 and 1214,having by his 1st wife had [Geoffrey], with and eldest son (William, diedby 1 Jan 1198/9?) and a youngest (Ingram, in Ireland with brotherGeoffrey). Geoffrey de Say . . . was born probably not later than 1135, and possiblyearlier." (CP-XI-465) The Says were closely associated with theMandeville earls of Essex, for Geoffrey's mother was a sister of thefirst Earl. "He appears as a witness to a charter of Earl William deMandeville, br. of Earl Geoffrey, before 1166, and a charter of Henry II,executed at Winchester (1176-81), granting to Earl William de Mandevilleall the land [in Normandy] which Robert de Say had rightfully given him."(Ibid) Much of the latter part of Geoffrey de Say's life was devoted to alawsuit against Geoffrey FitzPiers over the estate of Earl William deMandeville, which suit continued beyond the life times of the twoparties. "He m. 1stly, Alice, widow of Ralph de Cahaines, and da. of HughMaminot. He m., 2ndly, Alice, da. of Aubrey (de Vere), 1st Earl ofOxford. . . . He was alive in 1212, but dead in 1214. Alice surv. him andwas living in 1214." (Ibid)

James Henderson was Lord Advocate 1494-l507, when he became Lord Justice Clerk.
He redeemed the estates of Fordel, Fife Co. in l5l0, and in l5ll, King James IV
granted him the free Barony of Fordell. He had also acquired lands at
Balbeithby in l504, at Stratoun in l506 and l509, and in Carrick in l508. He
married Helen Baty (Beatie?), and was killed along with his son and the King
at the Battle of Flodden which took place on September 9, l5l3
James Henderson's name was also known and recorded as James Henrysoun
